Abstract


Is the digital control conquering the last frontier of analog design, power supply design? What would be the next generation of technology for space power electronics look like? What would the technology look like for the generation beyond the next? In his talk, Dong will try to address some of the issues from his experience and share some his observations.

Short Bio


Dr. Tan is a world renowned expert in power conversion and a department manager at Northrop Grumman Space Technology. He received a PhD from California Institute of Technology, . He developed Northrop Grumman first flight power processing unit for an award wining, all US-built propulsion system in 2006. He also led a team on a common transceiver power supply design that received an Northrop Grumman President Award for Innovation in 2002. His double forward converter design earned him Northrop Grumman's Distinguished Patent Award in 2002.
