Massively Parallel Graphics Computing Presenters : Joe Cox (Director of Engineering, AMD) Time: 9:30am to 10:30am 11/16/07 (Friday) Abstract: In this talk, we will first provide overview of AMD, Orlando. We will talk about the evolution from graphics processors to massively parallel computing processors. This will be followed by an architectural and feature presentation of AMD's latest graphics processor, the HD 3800. We will then turn to the use of graphics processors for non-graphics applications (GPGPU) and will introduce some of the work which was done in collaboration with UCF, UF and interns. We will conclude this talk with what future graphics processor applications look like and why universities should prepare its undergraduates to think parallel processing. As part of the presentation, we will show the latest "cool" demos on AMD's latest Graphics HD 3800 processor.
