The Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (M.S.E.E.) or Computer Engineering (M.S.CpE) is intended for students with a baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. In addition to the general admission requirements, applicants must have a
- minimum GPA of 3.0 on the last 60 attempted credit hours of the bachelor’s degree.
- minimum combined score of 1000 on the verbal-quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
and provide a
- resume.
- goals statement.
- two letters of recommendation.
Admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering requires satisfying the university requirements and
- completion of either a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a minimum of 1100 on the combined verbal-quantitative sections of the GRE, or
- completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the last 60 attempted credit hours and a minimum of 1100 on the combined verbal-quantitative portion of the GRE
- Submission of a resume, goal statement, and three letters of recommendation

To apply for the Master of Science or the Ph.D. program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., visit the College of Engineering and Computer Science web-site (www.graduate.cecs.ucf.edu) and submit a pre-application. Once your pre-application has been reviewed you may be invited to submit a full application to your program of interest. When you are invited to submit a full application you will be given detailed instructions (through an e-mail) of how to apply and what documentation is needed for your full application.
For UCF undergraduate students, the Accelerated Masters program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers an opportunity to complete a Masters degree in one year after graduation with a Bachelor’s degree. To be considered for this program UCF students must satisfy the following requirements:
- attained junior standing, having completed at least 64 credit hours towards their BS degree.
- have a GPA of at least 3.25 at the time of application and maintain it after acceptance into this program.
- score a minimum of 1000 on the combined verbal-quantitative portion of the GRE (the GRE score needs to be provided by the first semester of their senior year at UCF)
To apply for the Accelerated Masters program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept., visit the College of Engineering and Computer Science web-site (www.graduate.cecs.ucf.edu) and submit a pre-application for a Masters degree. In addition, notify the EE Graduate Coordinator (Dr. Michael Georgiopoulos at michaelg@mail.ucf.edu) or the CpE Graduate Coordinator (Dr. Harold Klee at klee@mail.ucf.edu) of your intent to apply for the Accelerated Masters program. Once your pre-application has been reviewed you may be invited to submit a full application to your program of interest.
