BASIC PURPOSE: Design and development of electronic ballasts and controls for High Intensity Discharge lighting systems. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: - Core Competencies in power electronics, analog design & feedback control - design, analysis, breadboarding and testing. - Proficiency in software design and implementation of micro-controller based systems. - Strong understanding of PCB layout, thermal management requirements. - Working knowledge of HID/Fluorescent lighting systems is desirable. - Demonstrate creativity to support innovation & technology development. - Perform product design and development with a high degree of independence. - Perform qualification tests to meet Electrical, Thermal, EMC, Environmental requirements. - Support product marketing on competitive benchmarking and developing technology/product roadmaps. - Manage product development process from concept through product launch. - Strong oral/written communication & project leadership skills, and work in global team environments within OSRAM. - Support cross-functional departments - marketing, manufacturing, quality, and interface with external customers. - Participate in regulatory activities NEMA, ANSI, UL, DOE related to general lighting. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Preferred MSEE with 2+ yrs experience or BSEE with 5+ yrs experience.
