EECS 5936: EECS Seminar Course
Fall 2009
Welcome to the EECS Seminar Course sign-in page.
All students who are on a GRA or GTA for EECS must be registered for the EECS Seminar class, EEL 5936. Students are required to attend six (6) seminars for the Spring 2009 semester. Seminars that will count toward this total are listed at the seminar sign-in website at www.eecs.ucf.edu/seminarsclass/. It is the student's responsibility to check this website periodically for upcoming seminars. Seminar announcements will not be emailed to students.
Expectations
For a seminar to count, a student must meet all of the requirements below. You are responsible for ensuring that you meet the requirements.
Consider the seminars like any corporate presentation. The speaker deserves your complete attention for the entire talk. This is your chance to practice proper decorum for lab seminar meetings in the real world. This means that students are expected to:
- arrive and be seated before a seminar starts,
- do not leave early,
- and behave courteously during the seminar.
Please extend to the speaker every courtesy that you would expect others to extend to you. If you cannot act professionally in the seminar, then please do not show up.
Sign-in Process
The sign-in process for the EECS seminar class is now online at
www.eecs.ucf.edu/seminarsclass/. Students will need to register at this
website for an account which they will use to log their seminar attendance.
Please make sure your first name, middle initial (if applicable), and last
name are correct. Your name must match that listed in the grade sheet in
order for you to receive a grade for the seminar class.
Students will be able to sign-in for a seminar 15 minutes after it is
over. Students will have four days to sign-in for each seminar.
For example, if a seminar is given on Thursday, students will be able to
sign in on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday until midnight on Monday.
- Students can only sign in for themselves.
- Students can only sign up for seminars that they attended in their entirety.
- Students are responsible for ensuring that they sign-in correctly at the website within the allotted time.
Sign-in sheets for class credit will NOT be passed around at the seminar itself. If other individuals or societies pass around their own sign-up sheets at the seminar, signing those pages will NOT give you credit for attending that seminar.
Please make sure you log out of your account after you have signed in for a seminar. You are responsible for the security of your account.
Dishonesty
Any instance of academic dishonesty will result in a minimum penalty of a failing grade in this course for all parties involved, with the possibility of additional disciplinary action to be determined by the EECS Graduate Committee.
