UnrealEd Tutorials
Unreal Editor is the 3D modeling and game design tool for Unreal Engine based games. This is a series of tutorials I did while teaching a Game Engines class at UCF. Note that they are for UnrealEd version 2.0 that shipped with UT. You will start out with a simple box-shaped playable map. In each succesive tutorial the map will be made more complex, building on what you did in previous tutorials.
Tutorial 1: Setting up the editor, basic architecture, texturing and lighting. A simple, playable map is created.
Tutorial 2: Water zones.
Tutorial 3: Texture alignment, brush re-sizing, deleting objects.
Tutorial 4: Intersection, Deintersection, the 2D Editor.
Tutorial 5: Lava zones.
Tutorial 6: Masked (or see through) textures, invisible objects that players collide with but cannot see.
Tutorial 7: Sky box, panning textures.
Tutorial 8: Importing custom textures, level intro screenshot.
Tutorial 9: Moving objects like doors, elevators, etc...
Tutorial 10: Placing items in the level, AI or Bot pathing.
Tutorial 11: Ambient sound effects, triggered events.
