Before joining UCF, I spent 5 years in New Haven, Connecticut and received my PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in 2012. Before that, I received my B.S. and M.S. degrees from Zhejiang University in 2005 and 2007, respectively.
My research has mainly focused on developing methods for ensuring the security and trustworthiness of integrated circuits and systems and has contributed several key solutions in the area of trusted hardware. These areas include
- IoT and CPS Security
- Hardware IP/SoC Formal Verification
- Security Enhanced Processor Architectures for Cybersecurity
- Gate-Level Netlist Security Analysis and Enhancement
- Emerging Devices in Hardware Security
4/21/2017. One SSL member, Mr. Raj Gautam Dutta receives the travel grant from the 2017 SIGDA PhD Forum at DAC.
4/14/2017. Dr. Jin is selected for the ACM SIGDA Outstanding New Faculty Award (ONFA).
11/12/2016. One student team from the SSL Lab won the First Place Award in the NYU CSAW Embedded System Challenges. Photos. (We were the Second Place Winner in 2013, 2014, and 2015).
10/11/2016. One SSL member, Ms. Heather Lawrence led a team from UCF and won the First Place at the UConn's CSI CyberSEED Social Engineering competition for the second year. More information can be found HERE.
9/20/2016. SSL's work in platform security, titled "Towards a Policy-Agnostic Control-Flow Integrity Implementation," is accepted for presentation in Black Hat Europe 2016. More information about the talk can be found HERE.
7/28/2016. One SSL member, Ms. Heather Lawrence was invited to visit White House attending the Cybersecurity Competitions Workshop. News Link.
7/22/2016. One SSL member, Mr. Dean Sullivan was selected as the shadow TPC member of ASIACCS 2017, one prestigious cybersecurity conference.
7/14/2016. One SSL member, Ms. Heather Lawrence was awarded one of seven National Veteran Scholarships. News Link.
7/12016. Dr. Jin attends the AFRL Visiting Faculty Research Program (VFRP) in summer 2016.
6/2/2016. Dr. Jin is invited to serve as the Associate Editor of the Integration, the VLSI Journal.
6/1/2016. Dr. Jin is invited to serve as the Associate Editor of the two new journals, Journal on Hardware Security and IET Journal of CPS. More information about these two journals will be released soon.
5/4/2016. Dr. Jin is selected for the Early CAREER Award of the Department of Energy (DoE).
4/25/2016. Two of the SSL members, Mr. Dean Sullivan and Mr. Orlando arias, were awarded the A. Richard Newton Young Students of the Design Automation Conference, 2016.
