1. Read the section in the book about the Mach microkernel (pp 785-793). Write
an essay about the differences of the microkernel approach vs. the monolithic
approaches we studied for process and memory management. 


2. Read and summarize in 500 words the design philosophy behind ReiserFS, one of the
journaling file systems available for Linux. Compare it with the file systems
studied in class.

3. Read the article "A Brief History of the Internet".
