Com S 342, ``Principles of Programming Languages,'' is usually taken by juniors and seniors. The class has a ``lecture'' that either meets three times a week, 44 or 45 times for 50 minutes a time, or twice a week, 29 or 30 times for 75 minutes at a time; the format depends on the semester schedule (see the Syllabus for the exact schedule this semester). It also has a discussion section that meets once a week with a teaching assistant (for 50 minutes). The course carries 3 credit hours.
