Jack Oakley

Just after accomplishing the rank of Eagle Scout in high school, Jack P. Oakley headed off to college and received his Bachelor of Arts in Game Design in 2008. From there he went on and worked as a game tester at D3Publisher of America, Inc. He was promoted to Senior Tester and lead several projects and teams. During his 3.5 years at D3Publisher, Jack worked on 27 titles including "Naruto: Path of the Ninja" which passed its first party submission on the first try.

Shortly after leaving D3Publisher, Jack worked at Quest Online, LLC as a tester on an MMORPG called "Alganon". Within the first year he was promoted to QA Organizer and took on the Customer Service Game Master role. When the company went under, Jack worked in tech support for a webhosting company and learned many things about websites and troubleshooting.

Wanting to get back into the game industry and wanting to do more coding, Jack went back to school to learn more about programming. He earned an AS in Computer Science from Mesa Community College and tutored Computer Science while taking those classes. He then came to UCF to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science and joined ISUE in 2019.

Jack is currently working on his thesis which involves gestural presentation styles, cognitive load, and flow theory in video games. He has helped on a few of the other projects within the lab, designing and implementing elements that modify projects to make them have more game-like features.
