I have not finalized the class syllabus as of yet. However, I can mention the topics that I plan to cover in the class and some overall information. Topics will include application systems, self-organization, routing, data dissemination, data fusion, topology management, MAC protocols, sensor management, ssecurity, and so on. The pre-requisite for the class is basically would be a basic networking class or the consent of the instructor. Basic knowledge of wireless networks would be plus, but not a must. The class will be conducted as a research based class which means that most of the material being discussed will come from the most recent journal and conference papers. There most likely will be one exam and the students expect to hand-in assigned paper summaries as part of the homework. At last, there will be a fairly good size class project (individual or group of two) to design and implement new algorithms in a given topic. Overall, I would say that this class would be beneficial to those who would like to start working in the area of wireless networks as well as those students who would like to get familiar with the area. Hope this was helpful. If you have any further questions, please let me know.
